Ever heard of the Climats? The Climats are specific vineyard plots that have been carefully delimited for centuries. Their geological characteristics and microclimate come together to create remarkable wines with unique organoleptic properties. The two key grape varieties of the region - Pinot Noir and Chardonnay - best express their diversity in Burgundy thanks to the combination of nature and man's experience.

From June 7th to July 7th, Burgundy is celebrating the 4th anniversary of the UNESCO inscription of the Climats. Once more, as one of thegreat founding sponsors of the inscription application of the Climats, Maison Joseph Drouhin is proud to take part in this one-month-long event. Join us for a visit of our historical cellars (12th and 15th century), followed by the commented tasting of 8 emblematic wines of Maison Joseph Drouhin (4 whites and 4 reds). You will have the opportunity to taste and compare wines from the same vintage, same appellation, same winemaker coming from different vine plots in order to truly "taste" the uniqueness of each Climat. We will share with you the origin and meaning of the name of each Climat you will be tasting, as well as its geographic exposure and the particularities of the soil.

The tasting includes the following wines:

Whites :

  • Chablis Premier Cru Mont de Milieu 2016

  • Chablis Premier Cru Sécher 2016

  • Puligny-Montrachet Premier Cru Folatières 2016
