Itinerary:
Rendez-vous at the Oenothèque Joseph Drouhin, 1 Cour du Parlement, (GPS address: Place du General Leclerc) 21200 BEAUNE. From here we will depart south of Beaune directly into the vineyards along small, winding roads, driving through Pommard and Volnay until we arrive at the villages from which are born the great white wines of Burgundy; Meursault, Puligny-Montrachet and Chassagne-Montrachet.
During our excursion you will learn about viticulture in Burgundy, notions of 'terroir', the appellation system and the history of viticulture in our region. We will, of course make a halt at the famous 'Montrachet' Grand Cru parcel. We will see the grape pickers at work in the vineyards.
On the way back to Beaune, we will stop off at our winery to see the grape harvest and all the activity taking place at this most exciting time of the year; a real consecration after a long hard year of work in the vineyard.
On returning to Beaune, you will then benefit from a private tour through the labyrinth of our historical cellars, followed by a tasting of our emblematic wines.
