2PM / 6 people max
70 € Inc.VAT / person

An exclusive tour of the prestigious cellars of the Drouhin family and the Hospices de Beaune. This tour is based on the true story of ancestor Maurice Drouhin during World War 2.

Programme:

Get ready for a memorable journey of hope, courage and ingenuity with this 3 hour tour which will take you through nearly 2000 years of history.

The tour will begin in our cellars, right where a wall was erected during World War 2 to hide the family's finest wines.

In a second phase, you will be taken to the Hospices de Beaune for a guided tour of this remarkable medieval hospital. Founded in 1443, it was the city's main hospital for over 500 years. Most members of the Drouhin family were born there. Nowadays, it is better known for housing the annual charity wine auction in November every year. You will get an exclusive access to sections that are normally closed to the public, including to where Maurice Drouhin was hidden by the nuns until the liberation of Beaune.

After a walk through the rest of our cellars which cover more than 2 acres below the city, you will be guided through a tasting of 7 wines including the Hospices de Beaune Premier cru 'Cuvée Maurice Drouhin'.
